What we are looking for

We are offering a fulltime internship for a limited time period of 5-6 months in our research department with focus on protein extrusion, starting from February-March 2023. As an intern in Food Technology, you will be proactively using your knowledge and expertise in researching different protein sources, developing different recipes, optimizing food formulation and testing new ingredients. Hence, you will support our Food Technology team in the following tasks:

  • Your key task will be the testing of different protein sources such as soy, pea, rice, potato, lupin, and many more for their gelation characteristics and texturizing properties
  • Hence, you will be working with our proprietary production technology and prototypes
  • Support in optimizing sensory properties (color, flavor, smell) of our products
  • Improving the texture and mouthfeel of our vegan seafood (e.g. through texture analyzer, rheometer, color measurement, pH analysis)
  • Working closely with our hardware technology department to improve our prototypes
  • Optimizing nutritional composition and working on novel product categories

Who you are

  • Currently pursuing an academic degree in: Food Science and/or Technology or similar
  • Experience with plant-extrusion technology (dry-, or high moisture) and meat alternatives are of a great advantage
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following fields is beneficial: plant-based product formulation, texture analysis, food ingredient functionality, plant protein texturization
  • Perfect English knowledge (German knowledge is beneficial)
  • Willing to use your knowledge to develop amazing new vegan seafood products
  • Proactive, independent, structured and goal-oriented mindset
  • Living in Vienna or ready to move here for the time of your internship (by the way, Vienna is voted the most livable city in the world for 10 consecutive years 😉)

Depending on your previous experience, you can count on a financial compensation for interns of 485€ on a monthly basis.
