What we are looking for
We are searching for a new Mechanical Engineering Intern starting in August or September 2023. As an intern in Mechanical Engineering, you will be proactively using your knowledge and expertise in developing in-house constructed hardware for our production facility of 3D printers. At the same time, you will have a chance to grow with an international team of highly motivated engineers. Your tasks will include:
- Conducting research and analysis to identify innovative design concepts for 3D printing hardware used in the production of vegan fish
- Creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings of the hardware components
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for the construction of the hardware components
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams within the R&D Department
- Participating in the prototyping and testing phases, iterating designs based on feedback and test results to achieve optimal performance and reliability
- Supporting the transition of the hardware designs from prototype development to mass production, ensuring manufacturability and scalability of the production process
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing appropriate measures to ensure safety and compliance standards are met in the design and operation of the hardware
- Collaborating with external suppliers and manufacturers to source components and oversee the production of the hardware
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and industrial design, and applying relevant knowledge and techniques to enhance the performance and functionality of the hardware designs.
Who you are
- Pursuing an academic degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design or Mechatronics
- Completed internships in these work areas are of a great advantage
- Structured knowledge of CAD/CAM (Fusion 360 and other Autodesk Software of advantage)
- Programming knowledge in C++, Python (other languages are beneficial)
- Basic knowledge of electrotechnics and sensorics & mechanical and thermodynamical processes
- Innovative and team spirit, independent, structured and goal-oriented mind-set
- Perfect English knowledge (German knowledge is beneficial)
- Living in Vienna or ready to move here (voted most livable city in the world for 10 consecutive years)
