What we are looking for
An experienced Food Processing Automation Specialist, who will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and create conceptual designs for new machines tailored to the food industry’s specific needs
- Development of detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and models using CAD software to ensure precision and accuracy in the design process
- Guarantee that all machine designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards relevant to the food industry, including certifications necessary for food processing equipment
- Identify appropriate materials for machine components, considering factors such as food-grade standards, durability, and cost-effectiveness
- Work with the engineering team to build and test prototypes of the designed machines to evaluate their functionality, performance, and reliability
- Collaboration to improve and optimize existing machine designs to enhance productivity, efficiency, and ease of maintenance
- Work closely with the manufacturing teams to provide guidance during the machine fabrication and assembly process, ensuring the design’s practicality and manufacturability
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of the design process, including design specifications, testing results, and any design modifications
Who you are
- 3+ years previous work experience in designing machines for the food industry, with a strong understanding of food safety regulations and certifications required for food processing equipment
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and knowledge of engineering principles related to machine design
- Preferably Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field
- Familiarity with food processing and packaging equipment, as well as an understanding of food safety and sanitation requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to devise innovative and practical machine designs
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate design documentation and adherence to industry standards
- Experience with project management software and tools
- Excellent organizational, time-management and leadership skills

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and present design concepts effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements
- Perfect knowledge of English, German is beneficial
- Residence in Vienna or willingness to relocate to Vienna
