Internship: Software Engineering

What we are looking for

We are searching for a Software Engineering Intern for a duration of 5-6 months. As an intern in Software Engineering, you will be proactively using your knowledge and expertise in developing in-house constructed hardware for our production facility of 3D printers. At the same time, you will have a chance to grow with an international team of highly motivated engineers. Your tasks will include:

• Collaborating with our experienced team of engineers and food scientists to design and develop a state-of-the-art slicer software
• Conducting research and experimentation to understand the challenges and opportunities of non-planar 3D food printing
• Implementation of algorithms and methodologies to enable precise control and synchronization of the printing process
• Optimizing the slicer for performance, speed, and reliability
• Conducting rigorous testing and validation to ensure the slicer meets the highest quality standards
• Documentation of the development process and prepare reports on findings

Who you are

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Food Science, or related fields
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
• Familiarity with 3D printing concepts and technologies
• Knowledge of computational geometry, data structures, and algorithms
• Enthusiasm for the culinary arts and an eagerness to explore new possibilities in the field
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills
• Perfect English knowledge (German knowledge is beneficial)
• Living in Vienna or ready to move here (voted most livable city in the world for 10 consecutive years)
